I am worried about my child hitting her head on the tile. I am concerned about using rugs though in case they trip her up.

i use a swiffer mop with pre moistened towelettes.
i have also tried plain hot water and a towel. any suggestions i can try to get it off and keep it shiny.
someone told me to try vinegar, but i think that will remove the natural shine of the ceramic.
